I Am Not There

I Am Not There

Or there

I Am Not There

Because I am here  I Am Not There

And here I Am Not There

And here

And here.

Where blogging from one’s phone is a minor irritant on the pebbled beach of life.

See you later. If I come back.

If.

How do you come to be in Llangollen? The summery photos have inspired me to read your blog post ‘This Summer I’ll Be Reading My Ego: The Farce of Holiday Reading Lists.’

Have a wonderful time ‘there’ and look forward to seeing you when you’re unfortunate enough to get back ‘here’.

Unfortunate is right, Carolann. But you know me, I will grit my teeth and complain loudly as best I can 😉

You’ll kill me for not saying earlier, Nick, but I’m far closer to you than that. It was touch and go til the last minute whether I’d get to come away at all, but I’m currently eating large quantities of Feta just south of you…

Biiiig beautiful island. Very rocky. Highly Greek. Currently my most favourite place on earth. I will be crying buckets when forced to leave. Apparently the police are involved 😉

Can you believe I’ve never been there? Although, in my defence, it’s for a good reason.

If you’re talking about the island I think you’re talking about, you’ll be aware its reputations as being filled with (gun-totting) crazies.

Before I met Electra, I was on a two-year relationship with a lovely girl, whose mom was from said island. She didn’t take well to our breakup, and told everyone how she’d hunt me down and shoot me, should she ever lay eyes on me.

It taught me to stay clear of said island for life!

Good grief. There’s a book in that surely! I think I must be in a much quieter spot on said island. Yesterday I forgot what day it was all day except for twice when I got it wrong anyway. The sea is salty and the sun is not a myth. Hey presto! Changed Irish person…

Aw… Getting the day wrong is a sure sign of a great time. Changed, indeed! I’m almost inclined to attach a photo of a puppy..

Oh envy (though I can’t complain as I have just returned from wine-tasting on the shores of Lake Michigan – bet you didn’t know they made wine there).

Yes, especially if you make faces and they all run around desperately trying to find the one wine you will like. My daughter, who actually knows about wines, was very happy and impressed.

And well done to you too! I saw on Twitter this morn that all shortlisted posts are now through to the final, and will be decided by judges rather than a public vote. Hopefully this means that for once the best best post will win!

I don’t see a word about the judging aspect on Twitter. Are you sure there isn’t another round of voting? Now there’s a nightmarish prospect ~ what’s left to barter?

I definitely saw it in a reply somewhere, but the goalposts seem to be moving all the time, so it’s not set in stone anyway. To be honest, Jean, if it’s a public vote and you’re up against the likes of fashion/beauty bloggers with tens of thousands of page views a month and thousands of Instagram followers etc – I’d keep my pride! It’s not about the posts in that event, it’s about popularity, and that’s a whole other competition.

On holiday but can’t leave the internet behind! Looks an interesting place. Love the narrow cobbled streets. It may even be the same island I’m off to in ten days. Make sure the sun stays for me. I could do with some before winter sets in. Have a lovely, relaxing, boozy, eating-too-much feta time and send positive sunny vibes to the judges.

I know, I’m a disgrace. But awards season puts the pressure on a bit. Indeed I’m well back now, and firmly re-shackled to the office desk. But if you are indeed off to the same island, I can’t even type my jealousy enough. Have a wonderful time in paradise!
